Bumpers & Books In-Person
Join the Groton Public Library for its tenth annual Bumpers & Books: a Literary Trunk or Treat! The Library staff, community volunteers, and town employees will be on hand in the Library's back parking lot to give out treats from the trunks of their decorated vehicles. All the vehicles will be decorated to represent books, authors, or Dewey Decimal call numbers. From Alice in Wonderland and The Lorax to Dogs (636.7) and Motorcycles (629.2275), don't miss our book-tacular display of trunks! In addition to the trunks, there will be balloon artistry, crafts, face painting, tattoos, and a free lunch. Attendees may also wander our Book Patch and select a free, brand-new book, take photos in the Picture Patch, and play lawn games.
Bumpers & Books is free and open to the public. Children are encouraged to dress in book- or author-related costumes to add to the festivities.
If you’re interested in decorating your vehicle for display or donating candy and treats, please contact Kim at 860-441-6750 or kbalentine@groton-ct.gov.
The rain date for this event is Saturday, October 25th.
